National Public Works Week Awards Contest
Each year, CPWA hosts an awards contest to recognize municipalities in Canada for their NPWW programs and events. All communities are invited to submit their activities. A panel of evaluators chooses winning entries based on the awards criteria, and any municipality in Canada is eligible for nomination.
The 2023 award categories:
- First Time Entry: Any community submitting for the first time.
- Community under 25,000: Any community with a population under 25,000.
- Community of 25,000 to 99,999: Any community with a population of 25,000 to 99,000.
- Community of 100,000 or more: Any community with a population of 100,000 or more.
- Most Creative Entry
The nomination period for the 2023 contest opens May 1, 2023. Contest criteria and nomination forms can be downloaded below:
The nomination deadline is June 23, 2023.
Winners of the 2023 contest will be announced Monday, August 28, 2023 at the CPWA Luncheon held in conjunction with the 2023 Public Works Expo (PWX) in San Diego, CA and in APWA publications. Additionally, a designated representative of the public agency or municipality will be presented a plaque at the municipal event of their choice (usually a town council meeting).
