The City of Winnipeg recently embarked on developing a formal Asset Management program. Although there are many elements associated with Asset Management, an initial assessment identified the need to adopt an Investment Planning Framework that provides a Robust, Defensible and Transparent Decision Making process.
This presentation will provide an overview of the City’s Asset Management program and outline the key components of the Investment Planning process being implemented.
Ron Amann is Manager of the City of Winnipeg’s Asset Management Program, with over 30 years of combined experience between the public and private sector.
Ron is a Certified Engineering Technologist (CET) and is also a Project Management Professional (PMP). Ron has Certificates in Public Sector Management, Financial & Management Accounting and Quality Management from the University of Manitoba.
Prior to becoming Manager of the Asset Management Program, Ron was one of the key City staff involved with the construction of the City of Winnipeg’s new Water Treatment Plant and the Conexus – PeopleSoft implementation project. Away from work, Ron had leadership roles in the development of the Maple Groove Rugby Park and recently Southwood Golf and Country Club’s relocation to St. Norbert.
