National Public Works Week (NPWW) is a celebration of the tens of thousands of men and women in North America who provide and maintain the infrastructure and services collectively known as public works.Instituted as a public education campaign by the American Public Works Association (APWA) in 1960, NPWW calls attention to the importance of public works in community life. The Week seeks to enhance the prestige of the often-unsung heroes of our society-the professionals who serve the public good every day with quiet dedication. This year, premier Greg Selinger has proclaimed the week of May 16-22, 2010 as "Public Works Week" in the Province of Manitoba.

Winter maintenance is critical to ensuring mobility and safety to the traveling public during inclement winter weather. For an agency to make the best use of their limited resources available for winter maintenance it is important that the agency be able to determine how well their storm-fighting tactics are and how good a job they are doing in their overall strategy. This Click, Listen, and Learn Session will present how performance measures can be developed and applied in the field of winter maintenance. CPWA Manitoba is proud to present this educational session, to be held at 1539 Waverley Street, Winnipeg MB.If interested, please browse to our "Events" section for more information*** Note - As Sponsors of the event, City of Winnipeg Streets Maintenance Employees may attend at no charge ***
